Josh Chang

An applied mathematician with a PhD in Biomathematics (UCLA 2012). He has mainly worked on developing quantitative methods for understanding phenomena in the biomedical and health sciences.

Hongjing Xia

Hongjing Xia

A data scientist with a PhD in Biomedical Engineering (UCLA 2014). She has extensive research and production experience with machine learning methods on large scale datasets. She has worked on extracting insights from datasets across different industries, developing machine learning methods for trading at Point72 and fraud detection model at Amazon.

Sonya Mahajan

Sonya Mahajan

A healthcare consultant in the field of Pain Management. She has an MS in Medical Science (UT College of Medicine 2011) and a Master’s in Health Administration (EMU 2015). She specializes in practice optimization and improving patient satisfaction.

Ted Chang

Ted Chang

A computer scientist with a BS in Computer Science & Engineering (UC San Diego 2016). He has collaborated on projects such as Engage for Hackforla.

Ro Mahajan

An Interventional Pain Physician and Anesthesiologist. He serves as the Medical Director to the largest interventional pain clinic in North Dakota which sees over 12,000 patients per year.

Jerry Jariyasunant

Jerry Jariyasunant

The co-founder of Automatic Labs, which was founded in 2011 and acquired by SiriusXM in 2017. He obtained his PhD from UC Berkeley working on algorithms and machine learning for transportation problems.

Pei-Shu Ho

A health services researcher with a PhD in Health Services Organization and Research. Her work has focused on program evaluation using clinical, claims-based, and public use survey data.

Joe Maisog

Joe Maisog

A Senior Informatics Scientist with an MD (University of Maryland 1990) and an MS in Biostatistics (Georgetown University 2010). His interests include scientific programming, neuroscience, data science, biostatistics, and image/signal processing.

Alex Bui

Alex Bui

Received his PhD in Computer Science in 2000, after which he joined the faculty in the Medical Imaging Informatics (MII) Group in the Department of Radiological Sciences. His research focuses on distributed information systems for healthcare and biomedical research; data and probabilistic modeling methods for different diseases; and biomedical data visualization.

Tom Chou

Tom Chou

A professor in the Departments of Mathematics and Computational Medicine at UCLA. He was originally trained in theoretical physics (Harvard 1995) with specialization in statistical physics and biophysics. His Army-, NSF-, and NIH-funded research includes modeling neuroendocrine dynamics, developing computational and numerical approaches to study structured populations, and studying the development and maintenance of the adaptive immune system.

Ayah Zirikly

A natural language processing researcher who obtained her PhD in Computer Science (GWU 2017). She has worked on the SSA disability determination process as well as developing classification techniques to identify social media users that are at high-risk for self-harm.

Michael Chang

Michael Chang

A Licensed Architect in the State of California. He has directly managed projects upwards of $50 million in direct Construction Cost and has worked both nationally and internationally. He is the technical lead & manager of the Special Services Group, managing architectural services for an ongoing portfolio of over $300 million in Construction Cost at one time.

Rey Trajano

A software engineer that specializes in Web Applications and Database Systems, especially integrating disparate systems in the field of public education.

Wally Xie

Wally Xie

Presently a PhD student at the University of California, Irvine. He brings together previous operations and business development experience as the former CEO of Qchain, which was building content marketing applications and solutions. Wally has academic interests in statistics and climate science.

A Family Physician at a private practice in Florida providing outpatient primary care and chronic disease management.

Shreyas Ravishankar

Shreyas Ravishankar

A Pulmonologist and a Critical Care Physician. He is an Assistant Professor at Hofstra-Northwell School of Medicine. He works in a mix of tertiary and community hospitals as well as in the electronic ICU for Northwell.
